For the past years, I have been providing Security Monitoring services to larger international/ enterprise stores. In a nutshell, I monitor a store's state of security. This includes checking for patches, vulnerability's by custom code, ensuring developers don't leave data in accessible directory's, server configurations, and much more. In short, everything necessary to reduce the risk of getting breached. In the case of an incident, I perform analysis, keep reports and suggest additional security measurements to ensure a certain level of security. The way I work is also meant to reduce the risk of potential penalties according to data protection regulations within the European Union. It can be compared with the role of a technical security consultant which performs audits on a weekly basis.
During my study in Business IT & Management, I have created a +/- 4 month during minor in Magento. This minor was accredited by an examination committee regarding the standards for dutch higher education.
The self made course roughly contains everything someone working in the Magento development industry needs to know. This not only covers Magento's architecture in depth and detail, but also the basics of software development, project management, security and privacy / eCommerce related law.
The requirements to pass include building a custom theme and several modules together with launching a fully operational store. Furthermore at least 3 Magento certification exams must be passed. I've finished it myself. I will add a link to the full story soon.
Font Awesomeness was my first module to be released on Magento Connect. The module was meant to experience the procedure of getting a module validated for Magento Connect. Later on it was extended to provide an easy interface for non-technical store owners to use icons all around their store. It provides several font packages and a widget interface that holds all options for a font awesome icon.
