A PHPUnit/Webdriver (Selenium (there for SEO)) based test framework for streamlining browser testing with Magento. It basically boils down to building out reusable Web Driver commands for Magento allowing you to bypass much of the boilerplate code that browser/functional testing may require. This is done through utility classes.

Kalen interviews Kevin on Magium and his configuration management tool. Kevin shreds on his electric guitar while they talk open source - what more could you ask for.

The client is in the business of selling custom built industrial hoses. Each hose type has multiple diameters set up as simple products for a configurable product. And each simple product has multiple options for hose fittings on each end with different prices per diameter. So the simple product has to be added to the cart, but for each of use by the end user, they only want the type of hose to show, and then have the configurator select and add the right simple product to the cart. I’ve built a custom product view that allows the user, on the configurable product page, to select one diameter, and then load the simple products options for fittings and length of hose. Once fittings are selected, a length of hose is displayed with the user selected fittings shown on each end. Once the user selects all options and length of hose in inches and adds to cart, the module calculates the overall price of the hose by length, plus the cost of the fittings for each end.

Overrode the existing login using a custom login module that interfaces with a clients external oAuth system to allow SSO throughout all their web properties, including the Magento site. Once the oAuth token was authenticated, the customer is either logged in (if they have an account) or a customer account is created for them.

If you've used other marketplaces in the past, you've likely run across developers that weren't very good. At Commerce Hero, we vet all Magento developers personally.

Transparent Pricing

Our developers aren't cheap, but you can see right up front what their rates are. Why go through a song and dance with a sales person just to find out what their rates are?

See Availability

If you've worked with freelancers in the past, you know their availability is subject to change. We eliminate the uncertainty by showing you their availability at a glance.

What People Are Saying

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the cost?

We charge a percentage of referred projects (or full time hires). In the case of projects we'll charge the company being hired, and in the case of recruiting we'll likely charge the hiring company.

What markets is this available in?

We will be initially targeting North America and major European markets. We will eventually get to other markets as well. This will simplify a number of factors for us including quality.

Is this going to be a race to the bottom like other marketplaces?

Nope - in fact we won't even allow developers to charge fees that are lower than what we consider reasonable for quality Magento development work. This service is all about quality.

What if we want to hire someone locally?

While we would greatly encourage all hiring companies to consider remote developers, we will also be offering some support for hiring locally as well, including outreach to specific markets.
